Hi Dr. Santos,

This protein Q7XK24 (Transcript Loc_Os04g40300) was annotated as "
transglutaminase putative, expressed" by TIGR through automatic and
manual curation
(http://www.tigr.org/tdb/e2k1/osa1/LocusNameSearch.shtml). It
indicated this is a predicted coding region and the function of this
protein was suggested by computational analysis, but not by any
experimental evidence. I did blastp to compare Q7XK24 to other
protein sequences, the result showed Q7XK24 is 72% identical to
transglutaminase in Zea mays (CAD32336). Currently, I wouldn't be
able to find any literatures or references to associate with Q7XK24,
we will keep you informed once we have any updates on this protein.

Sincerely,

Chih-Wei Tung
Gramene Curator
