Dear Dr. Jaiswal~
I am a student in Dr. Elizabeth Kellogg's laboratory of Molecular Plant
Systematics. I am working on using bioinformatics tools to identify CNSs using
three-way species comparisons.
I'm writing you because I have been experiencing extreme difficulty in
acquiring the genomic sequence for a rice gene (OSH1, homologous to kn1 in
maize). This gene is thought to occur on chromosome 3. I have had not success
in finding the proper sequence in the BAC clones that have been retrieved via
BLAST searches. However, I have found other genomic sequences for other rice
genes, so I believe that I have used the available tools properly. Please, if
you could offer any advice I would greatly appreciate it!
I have attached the MSWord file for the cDNA sequence of the rice gene of
interest. It is in FASTA format. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your time,
Lilla Bartko
