Webinar: Gramene's New Search
Tuesday April 26th, 2016
2:00 pm EDT

Welcome to Gramene!

Gramene is an integrated resource for comparative functional genomics analysis in crops and model plant species.

The Gramene database (http://www.gramene.org<http://cshl.cmail20.com/t/t-l-ddllkdt-kkuttrjil-y/>) has the pleasure to invite you to a FREE 30-min webinar to demonstrate features of the new search interface (http://search.gramene.org<http://cshl.cmail20.com/t/t-l-ddllkdt-kkuttrjil-j/>) and learn how to programmatically access the underlying data (http://data.gramene.org<http://cshl.cmail20.com/t/t-l-ddllkdt-kkuttrjil-t/>).

During this webinar, we will demonstrate how to search for genes by id, name, keyword, and to ask interesting questions by combining search terms. We will show how to explore the set of results and expand the search via homology relationships, or to genes with similar domain structure. The web services that power the search interface will be covered by providing example queries to extract genes, a gene tree, ontology terms, and to obtain a BED file representation of the canonical transcripts for one species.

If you have a specific question or case example that you would like us to address during this exercise, please contact us at webinar at gramene.org<mailto:webinar at gramene.org>.

Who should attend?

This webinar is open to the community of plant researchers and breeders; beginners, as well as frequent users of the Gramene database alike are welcome and encouraged to join.
