[Gmod-help] problem loading gmod

Hi guys 
when i double click on steam it loads until the point it reaches the backround of the civilian holding a street cone on the gman. the menu never loads and returns to the desktop as if it had been exited out of completely. tried reinstalling it but doesn't work still.
