Dear Plant Researchers,
Gramene database (www.gramene.org) is pleased to announce the
integration of the first public release of the “plant structure”
ontology developed by the Plant Ontology Consortium
(www.plantontology.org). You are invited to search and browse the new
ontology at http://www.gramene.org/db/ontology/search_term?id=PO:0009011.
The new ontology replaces the cereal plant anatomy ontology developed by
the Gramene curators. The plant structure ontology terms are identified
by the prefix PO (e.g. PO:0009011) instead of the previous GRO identifiers.
Currently we are using this ontology to associate the phenotype genes
from rice (Oryza), suggesting where in a plant the phenotype was
expressed or a trait was assayed.
