I am an undergraduate student currently studying in my <BR>
third year in IIT Delhi in the department of Biotechnology and <BR>
Biochemical Engineering.<BR>
<BR>
Indian Institutes of Technology(IIT) are elite <BR>
institutes where only about 2000 applicants out of more than 100000 <BR>
are selected after a series of two separate tests.Furthermore, of <BR>
these , only 23 students can pursue the undergraduate program <BR>
that I am enrolled in.<BR>
<BR>
Starting May 2003,I have a three month summer break <BR>
which I am required to work as an intern.I would like to make the best use </DIV>
<DIV>
of this available time and work on a meaningful project.I am confident that I can </DIV>
<DIV>
do very good work in the field of biotechnology, and would thus request you </DIV>
<DIV>
to consider giving me an opportunity.<BR>

So far I have undertaken courses in <BR>
genetics(DNA ,RNA and protein synthesis and transcription), </DIV>
<DIV>
microbiology,biochemical processes(with emphasis on </DIV>
<DIV>
microbial growth for commercial purposes),safety principals in biotech industry, </DIV>
<DIV>
food processing and biochemistry.Apart from these,I have undertaken two </DIV>
<DIV>
independent projects in Transport of molecules by Kinesins and the other being </DIV>
<DIV>
3D imaging of biomolecules.Furthermore,I have also completed courses in 3-D <BR>
vector,calculus,mechanics,computer programming as well as organic <BR>
chemistry. </DIV>
<DIV>

<DIV>
My laboratory experience in Biotechnology includes working in </DIV>
<DIV>
microbiology as well as biochemistry laboratories.I have done experiments </DIV>
<DIV>
ranging from protein/dna estimation and cell culturing to mutation of bacteria. </DIV>
<DIV>
Apart from these I have also obtained laboratory experience in chemical,optical, </DIV>
<DIV>
electrical,computer,mass and heat transfer laboratories amongst others. </DIV>
<DIV>

<DIV>
My experience in computers includes knowledge of database </DIV>
<DIV>
as well as core programming in c++ and java.c++ expertise includes the </DIV>
<DIV>
design and developement of my own GUI/Operating system using C.<BR>
I am also adept at developing algorithms<BR>
