Dear Professors

I am seeking a Post Doctoral Research Fellow/ Research Scientist position at
your eminent laboratory in the area of Plant Breeding and Genetics .I have
recently submitted my thesis for the degree of PhD  in The Dept of Genetics,
University of Delhi South Campus, India under Prof. Akshay K. Pradhan* *as
my PI, in the area of Plant Breeding and Genetics,and My thesis deals with
the '*Molecular mapping of yield components and seed glucosinolate traits in
Brassica juncea'*

 In my 4and ½ years experience in PhD I have developed skills in techniques
such as Molecular mapping of QTL, Application of MAS in plant breeding,
Mapping and dissection of genes involved in glucosinolate biosynthesis,
Evolutionary genomics, and Comparative genomics.My education in M.Sc.
(Genetics & Plant Breeding) has been particularly broad by Indian standards,
as this degree aims to give us a broad understanding of the many fields
related to Molecular Genetics, Seed science and technology, Quantitative
Genetics, Molecular Cytogenetics, Plant breeding, Tissue culture and Minor
Biochemistry which included General Biochemistry, Statistical methods and
biometry. I have also independently handled a project in my post graduation
and submitted thesis on '*Evaluation and characterization of rice germplasm
collections under upland ecosystem'*

During my entire academic career starting from B.Sc (Agriculture) till PhD I
have been a study scholarship holder sponsored by Govt. of India given only
to the top 10% students.I have interest in computers and developed expertise
in softwares like NTSYSpc; DNASTAR, JoinMap, MapQTL, MapInspect, Mapchart
and WindQTLCartographer and statistical softwares. My proficiency in
Molecular biology techniques including PCR methodology DNA manipulation and
cloning techniques, DNA sequencing using automated DNA sequencer, Molecular
(RAPD, SSR, AFLP, RFLP,SNP genotyping) markers, High performance liquid
chromatography (HPLC) and Near infrared spectroscopy (NIR)Quantitative trait
loci (QTL) mapping and Maintenance, evaluation and characterization of
germplasm, Breeding self and cross pollinated crop, Genome mapping,
comparative genomics and evolutionary biology and a good knowledge of
statistical methods in crop breeding gives me confidence to apply .

I have included my curriculum vitae with a brief summary of my work
