Gramene Development Site Feedback: Zea mays subsp. ramosa?

Pankaj,
As for merging it into Zea mays subsp. mays, as I said, it is a
single gene mutation of maize. My feeling is that it shouldn't be
listed as a separate taxonomic entity at all. However, if you feel
that it needs to be listed as a separate entity for purely historical
purposes, then it certainly should be included as part of Zea mays
subsp. mays.
