Installing gramene (Apache perl module)

Hi,
We tried installing the latest version of gramene from ftp://ftp.gramene.org/pub/gramene/CURRENT_RELEASE/software. But there were a few perl modules that it complained about, and we tried to install.

The 'Apache' perl module tries to install mod_perl 1.99, which only works with Apache 1.3.x.  We have already moved to Apache 2.x for numerous reasons, and will not be able to support a separate 1.3.x instance just for this software.  We can proceed if the software will work with mod_perl 2.x

Can you help us on this ?
