Dear Rice researchers,

Last December, some of the rice researchers from around the globe
expressed their interest in creating a dedicated rice mailing list.
The mailing list is suggested for use by anyone on the following topics.

# Requests
  	-Protocols, Materials, etc.
# Suggestions
# Feedback
# Announcements
	- Job postings
	- News items
	- Funding opportunities
	- Project proposals
	- Meetings
	- Workshops
	- Interesting articles and publications
	- Interesting Web sites including the project sites
# Inviting discussion groups on some particular topic

We all know that there are several of them already existing, that focus
on dedicated topics, but this one is expected to be general and open for
all. We (http://www.shigen.nig.ac.jp/rice/oryzabase), would like to open
"rice-e-net" mailing list for worldwide rice researcher. The archive is
freely available for browsing. However, for sending e-mails, there are
restrictions on registering your email address for the first time you
use it, in order to avoid the spams.

Address of the rice-e-net mailing list is

rice-e-net at chanko.lab.nig.ac.jp

To subscribe or unsubscribe, please access the following page.
http://chanko.lab.nig.ac.jp/list-touroku/rice-e-net-touroku.html

We request you to send mails without attachments, although attachments
are not entirely prohibited.

I hope the mailing list will generate immense interest among the rice
researchers community leading to many more collaborations and new
discoveries.

The researchers working on non-rice plants are equally welcome.

Best regards
Nori Kurata, Yukiko Yamazaki and Pankaj Jaiswal
