contigview links for feature hits

Thanks Steve,

The URLs from each one of the marker links in CMAP to the genomebrowser
should be adapted to include the forcing of the opening of the track. The
maize tracks are not open by default, and this causes a problem. The same
is true for the Barley links. Barleybase and any other database that we
forward links to should have this included. Please add this to the SOP for
developing the links that are forwarded to other groups.

Kiran, Ken and Mauricio,

Can you please review the tracks that should have this functionality. We
will be making a few updates to the database before the maize meeting. I
would like to include these changes. This should be done this week on the
development site to allow Shuly to update the live site for all new changes
by Monday of next week.

Doreen

Subject: contigview links for feature hits

To make sure a track is open and expanded when linking to a feature hit in
the
contig viewer, use this form with the track name (Rice_est):
http://www.gramene.org/japonica/contigview?chr=4&vc_start=25387850&vc_end=25
389149&highlight=CB649274&bottom=%7Cbump_Rice_est%3Aon

or this form with the logic name of the feature (rice_est.trim.crop):
http://www.gramene.org/japonica/contigview?chr=4&vc_start=25387850&vc_end=25
389149&highlight=CB649274&bottom=%7Cbump_%40features%20rice_est.trim.crop%3A
on

Another example:
http://www.gramene.org/japonica/unisearch?type=Feature&q=AA687082
--the three links force different tracks open.

Maybe someday I'll start following my own advice.
