Dear distinguished Gramene members,
Greetings!!
We are working on "Molecular breeding of QTL for Water Use Efficiency and
other drought related traits in rice". We phenotyped the doubled haploid
population of the cross IR62266-42-6-2 x CT9993-5-10-1-M for differences in
carbon and oxygen isotope ratios. We genotyped this population using
genomic DNA for RAPD and have identified 115 polymorphic marker loci. The
genotypic data was used to construct linkage groups using Mapmaker/Exp that
has given us 10 linkage groups!!!! and about 35 unlinked loci. Further, we
screened this population with 10 AFLP primer combinations and has observed
large number of polymorphic loci.
I think the genotypic data and the anchor probes available with us need to
be cleaned before using it for fine mapping of QTL. Can I request you to
send me the revised version of the genotypic data of the DHL population
(IR62266-42-6-2 x CT9993-5-10-1-M) along with the anchor probes and linkage
groups?
We are more than willing to share our findings with you. If anyone is
interested to collaborate with the mutual interest to promote drought
research, kindly let us know.
I hope the forum will help us in this regard.
Sincerely
