Thank you for your message.
I would like to say it is interesting and also confusing question. Based
on my understanding and the confirmation with one of my friend who has
worked in rice breeding field for many years, it should be like as
follows:
BC1 is equal to BC1F1. BC2F1 = BC2, etc. BC1 selfs (BC1 X BC1)
resulting BC1F2. BC2 selfs to produce BC2F2. I made a diagram using
Powerpoint for
your reference (See attached file).
As I know, there are different systems used by other researchers. I
think it will be helpful to use figure or free text for detail
explanation while using those names.
