Dear Grameners,
We just started working on rice and would like advices from you regarding
the following:
1) the conditions for growing indica or japonica rice: temperature, light
intensity, light/dark cycles, soil types (if you grow rice in America,
would you let me know the company and the catalog for the soil you
purchase?).
2) a protocol for large scale RNA prep from rice seeds. We have tried
different protocols such as LiCl method, Qiagene kit etc, but the RNA
quality varies from time to time. You have published several papers for
ABA responses in rice. I would appreciate it very much if you can send us
a protocol for RNA prep from rice embryos and aleurone cells.
Thank you very much for your help.
