GO Vs Traits

I think that Midori has answered your question. In your Trait Ontology
you are mixing concepts (a hanging crime in this game =:)).

These, as Midori says, are environmental conditions:

      %physicochemical stress ; GO:0301797
      %chemical stress ; GO:0301774
      %physiological stress ; GO:0301775
      %deepwater stress ; GO:0302189 ; synonym:flooding
      %drought stress ; GO:0302193
      %light stress ; GO:0301777
      %temperature stress ; GO:0302206

but these would be processes and quite valid for the GO process ontology:

      %response to physicochemical stress ; GO:0301797
      %response to chemical stress ; GO:0301774
      %response to physiological stress ; GO:0301775
      %response to deepwater stress ; GO:0302189 ; synonym:flooding
      %response to drought stress ; GO:0302193
      %response to light stress ; GO:0301777
      %response to temperature stress ; GO:0302206

indeed many of them are already children of
[i] response to abiotic stimulus (GO:0009628)
and we could add more (and clean up the words so that they all
read as
"response to <stress>"

[I think that this now in GO should probably not be:
      [i] drought tolerance (GO:0009633) ]

These could well be processes:
          %elongation ; GO:0302188 ; ICIS:1209 ; synonym:Elon
          %drought recovery ; GO:0302190 ; synonym:DRR
as
          %elongation response to stress ; GO:0302188 ; ICIS:1209 ; synonym:Elon
          %recovery from drought ; GO:0302190 ; synonym:DRR
