Subject: [Gramene-announce] Gramene database build 35 released!

Dear Gramene Users,

The Gramene Team is happy to announce its 35th release. In collaboration with the Sol Genomics Network (SGN), the DOE Joint Genome Institute (JGI) and Ensembl Plants, we are providing in this release, the new draft reference genomes for four species, namely:

* Solanum lycopersicum (tomato)
* Brassica rapa (turnip)
* Setaria italica (foxtail millet)
* Oryza brachyantha (a wild relative of cultivated rice)

In addition, we are also providing access to the chromosome 3 short arm assemblies for two new wild rice relatives, O. glumaepatula and O. meridionalis contributed by the Oryza Genome Evolution (OGE) project.

This release features new and updated pair-wise whole genome alignments and a new build of Compara phylogenetic gene trees. We also add two new variation datasets: the Maize HapMap 2 project and the OGE African rice (O. glaberrima) diversity study. We have updated our lists of candidates for putative annotation artifacts based on analysis of Compara gene trees.

The detailed release notes are available from http://gramene.org/db/help?state=current_release_notes

Please let us know if you have questions or suggestions.

The Gramene Development Team
