Hello all,<br><br>So, I see a few points worth raising and questions worth asking:<br><br>1) Steve, would you be interested in leading or being part of such a proposal? We certainly have a lot of users around Oxford. Possible collaborators could include Gos/InterMine (maybe already BBSRC funded?) and the BioMart group at Hinxton. We've also GMOD users spread around the UK. If you don't want to lead, we should put some time into thinking about who might. We would need to figure out leadership and participation ASAP. Once that happens, I see the Stateside contingent as shifting to a support role in writing the proposal<br>
<br>2) Given BBSRC's British focus, the Stateside GMOD could offer support in both preparing the grant and during the grant. This would include gathering stats to show usage and need in Britain, and working with GMOD UK if and when it is setup. We probably could not apply for funding. We'd also have to come up a policy for supporting (or not supporting) other European based GMOD users and developers.<br>
<br>3) Should a proposal include support and development, or just support? Is it more attractive with development? What "development" areas would be particularly useful in Britain?<br><br>Dave C.<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">
