you might refer the person to BioTeam. Brian Osborne, who helped start up the GMOD helpdesk, is now with the BioTeam, and while they're located in Boston, they travel all the time and the consultants work from home anyway if they don't travel.
Dear GMOD help,

Have you any spare talent for this contract job at Indianapolis? (ha ha)

On the broader question, are there any hopes of collecting biotech industry members to pay salary for an itinerant GMOD genome database installer/helper person?
Subject: Requesting Contract Candidates to set up CHADO/Gbrowse

Hello Don,
It has been awhile since I last contacted you regarding the CHADO
schema. In the lapsed time, the GMOD project has also lapsed from my
project list but I am finding more and more of a need for such a tool.
I am contacting you to ask if you know of any individuals who are
competent in setting up a CHADO/Gbrowse/Apollo environment and who may
be in the market for a contract position. I am looking to getting an
application up and running as soon as possible and would like to get a
contractor onboard as soon as I can find a suitable candidate. I know
it is difficult to find candidates now that the semester has started and
many students and faculty members live on a semester by semester basis,
but if you have any recommendations for someone who would be willing to
commit as much as 20 hours per week on our site in Indianapolis, I would
greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.
