[Gmod-help] Registering eagle-i with GMOD

Hello Hilmar,

eagle-i definitely meets these criteria. If at all possible it would be most helpful if we could be registered with GMOD before the June 6 R01 deadline as we are currently applying for support to maintain and enhance eagle-i. Demonstration that we have done due diligence to register eagle-i software in a suitable place would be important. As we ourselves are a database, we need to demonstrate that we follow our own principles ;)

Best regards,
Julie

Hi Julie,

Assuming that this is what you have in mind, the process and criteria for software to become a GMOD member project is documented here:

http://gmod.org/wiki/GMOD_Membership#Software

I'll also add that the process is administered by the GMOD Community Support, which is currently vacant (although we're in the process of hiring a candidate). We may not be able to start the process for the project you propose until someone is in that position again

In response to a similar recent inquiry, Scott Cain (GMOD Coordinator) also pointed out that it may be worthwhile for such candidate projects to introduce themselves and their products or components to the GMOD community via mailing lists (for example, gmod-devel and gmod-schema (Chado)), and to present at a GMOD meeting (although you just missed the last one, and the next one won't be until early next year).

Hello,

eagle-i is a new platform that allows scientists to find biomedical resources including genetically modified organisms.
We would like to register the open-source eagle-i software project (www.eagle-i.net and open.med.harvard.edu/display.eaglei) with GMOD.
Please let us know whether this is possible, and if so, what the next step would be.

Thanks in advance,
