Dear Dave and Scott
Thanks for your emails and I'll subscribe to the announce mailing list
as you've suggested.
In terms of suitable conferences in Australia, the first one that
springs to mind is the annual conference organised by A:usBiotech
http://www.ausbiotech.org/
If I can think of other suitable conferences, I'll let you know.
Thanks, Emma

Hi Emma,
To expand on Scott's comments: The announce list will get most
significant GMOD event announcements. You can also subscribe to the
GMOD News Page RSS feed (http://gmod.org/wiki/GMOD_News). We also add
events to the event list and calendar on the web site as soon as they
are confirmed (http://gmod.org/wiki/Calendar).
And the event next October is AMATA, in Canberra
(http://www.amata.org.au/index.php/2011-conference). And if we do have
a presence at AMATA (and that's still a big if), there is also a
possibility of a side-trip to Brisbane as well.
We are trying to increase GMOD's presence in Australasia. If you have
any suggestions for conferences or meetings to be at (especially those
that have funds to sponsor travel), please do let us know.
Thanks,
Dave C

Hi Emma,
Workshops in Australia aren't that common an occurrence, but it
is possible that we'll be there next October (though at the moment, I
can't remember where in Australia). I suggest you subscribe to the
gmod-announce mailing list, which is a very low traffic mailing list for
workshop and conference announcements:

Thanks,
Scott

Dear all
I've recently come across your Gbrowse tutorial on-line
and noticed that last year you had run a workshop in Melbourne. I'm
writing to enquire whether you regularly run such workshops and whether
you could send me details of any forth-coming workshop dates?
With many thanks, Emma
