Greetings.

   My name is Charlie Nicolet, I direct the DNA Technologies and Expression
Analysis cores at the UC Davis Genome Center. I am involved with an
organization called ABRF, Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities,
which is comprised of core managers, industry people, and other researchers
interested in technological applications to life science questions.  I'm
co-organizing a workshop on bioinformatics and next-gen sequencing and we
thought having someone talk about the use of browsers to visualize genomic
data would be a topic of broad interest. In particular we were interested
in having someone talk briefly about Gbrowse, but then lead a hands on
tutorial uploading, eg, a gff file and playing with the various features in
the browser (we would have everything set up, the speaker would not be
responsible for that).  This year's meeting is in Sacramento and the
workshop would be Friday March 19th.  Travel and one night's hotel can be
provided but no honorarium is offered.  Please let me know if someone in
your organization could participate in this.  If not, any leads on
individuals who might be suitable would also be greatly appreciated.
