Hi Charlotte,

Samtools can be used with GBrowse 1.70, with some limitations. See
this news item:

For GBrowse 2, you can install a beta release from cpan:

  cpan> install LDS/GBrowse-1.9971.tar.gz

or you can get an svn checkout:

  svn co https://gmod.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/gmod/Generic-Genome-Browser/trunk
