Dear Stéphanie

Thank you for your statement of interest in the GMOD short course. We will
contact you in mid-April regarding your application.

Will you have hired any of the GMOD System Administrators by July? It would
be good to have at least one of them apply for the Implementation track. If
you don't have any names yet, I'd be happy to also put in
"person-to-be-named" application for GnpAnnot for the Implementation track.
(I would just copy the application below).

The 2008 GMOD meeting will almost certainly be scheduled for July 16-17 in
Toronto. This is immediately before ISMB 2008, and just 2 days after the
GMOD Summer School ends in North Carolina. We are hoping to have these
dates definitively nailed down in the next week or so. I will let you know
when it becomes definite.

You are the second person to express an interest in having a GMOD school in
Europe. Someone from the Netherlands also requested it. We don't currently
have the funds for it, but if the interest is there we will certainly
investigate options.

Finally, several related projects are already or considering using GMOD (you
may already be aware of these):
  - ButterflyBase, http://butterflybase.ice.mpg.de/ - In the process of
converting some functionality to GMOD; based in Europe
  - HeliconiusBase, http://heliconius-dev.nescent.org/heliconius_ws/ - In
development
  - AphidBase, http://www.aphidbase.com/ - annotators meeting July 14-15 in
Princeton (halfway between North Carolina and Toronto)
I'm glad to see that you are working with Linda and Oliver. They are great
sources of knowledge about GMOD.

I look forward to working with you during this project. Please let me know
if you have any questions.
