Try selecting the "Gene Description" column, which might include the common name for a gene (for your example, you will get "Regulatory protein opaque-2 [Source:UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot;Acc:P12959]"). Hope this helps until we have successfully integrated all external references available for maize gene IDs. <br>

Hi Gramene, I tried to get gene names for a list of maize genes using gramene biomart. However, gene name column is empty even for some known genes. For example, I search gene id GRMZM2G015534 directly in gramene-genome-maize. I got the gene name is opaque-2 which is generally used in the publications. However, when I used the same gene id to filter in gramene-biomart and selected 'gene name' in abbributes, the gene name is empty for this gene id. Could you give me some suggestion? I try to get all published maize gene name for maize gene id. Thanks!<br>
