Dear Joanne,
The maps in the Gramene archive site are dated 2005 and I agree with you in
that wheat production in Papua New Guinea looks odd. I would look up at
the source of the data, that is, the FAOSTAT website at
http://www.fao.org/faostat/en/ for the latest and most accurate information
on crop production.
