Hi,
I noticed a problem with the positions of certain barley genes. Some, such as MLOC_24446, have the correct nomenclature of #H(S or L), whereas others such as MLOC_72613 only have the chromosome number. Not having the H after the chromosome number has been used to refer to the previous barley chromosome numbering system which is different to the current system. Is that what is happening here? Either way this needs to be updated, either the old designations must be updated to the new or the chromosome numbers need to have the "H" to designate the new numbering system. Furthermore, some have the "H" denoting the new system but are lacking the S or L that indicates the long or short arm of the chromosome. MLOC_44594 and MLOC_39185 (2, ~15 Mb and 2, 58 Mb respectively) have only been labelled with chromosome numbers, but MLOC_24446 (2HS, 30 Mb) which appears to be between the two has been designated with being on the short arm. Does this mean that 44594 and 39185 are also on the short arm of chromosome 2 or does this mean the position numbering system is different for each chromosome designation? Sorry for the long message but these are some important points that I feel need addressing. Thank you.
